ÖAR—The Islands, preparation pictures
New works including ÖN 2020, (The Island). Nine puppets on a low podium
The puppets, almost life-size, are mechanical and work with a sophisticated embedded system. The basic situation are waiting, breathing and listening. The performance last for 8 hours. No combination of movements can occur twice. It's no loop. During exhibition there are also a daily 10 minute long pre-planned action.
The Nine puppets are built in close relation with Thomas Lundquist. He has been working with Bunraku inspired puppet theatre since 1969 and are the leading Swedish puppeteer. Mechatronics built by Engineer Myles Syverud, based in Los Angeles.
